(Seoul) — Taxand, the world’s largest organisation of independent tax advisory firms, has admitted Yulchon as its member firm in South Korea.

Yulchon is a leading Korean business law firm of more than 400 lawyers and 80 tax advisors with offices in Seoul, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Hanoi, Beijing, Yangon (Myanmar) and Moscow. It is one of only two Korean firms ranked in the top tier for tax by Chambers and Partners.

Taxand is now represented in 48 countries with member firms providing high-level, strategic advice to a range of multinational clients on international tax issues. It has over 2,000 tax advisors across the globe.

The addition of Yulchon means Taxand now has strengthened its presence in the 10 key economies and countries in Asia. India’s Economic Laws Practice (ELP) joined Taxand as a new member firm last year.

Frederic Donnedieu de Vabres, Chairman of Taxand said:

“Yulchon is a welcome new addition to the Taxand family, bolstering our strength in East Asia. The firm will give our clients a broader scope of specialised tax expertise across the region. Our network has grown significantly in recent years and we look forward to working with our new colleagues and their clients.”

Kyu-Dong Kim, Partner at Yulchon said:

“Joining Taxand allows us to provide clients with the highest quality, cross border tax advice. Taxand’s international network provides a positive differentiation from other East Asian tax and legal firms. Its reputation for independent, specialist expertise fits well with Yulchon’s culture and we look forward to strengthening both our local and international tax services.”
