Biography

Louise Jenkins is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLP in London. She heads the Reward and Employment Tax team.

Ms. Jenkins brings over 25 years of experience advising companies on a range of employment-related tax issues, including the design and implementation of equity incentive plans, particularly the development of tax efficient, performance-driven long-term incentive plans for senior executives. She has extensive experience with all types of equity incentive plans in the U.K. and internationally, including HMRC-approved plans (CSOP, EMI, SAYE and SIP) and unapproved plans (growth shares, jointly owned arrangements, unapproved options, etc.). Her team also advises clients on domestic and international employment taxes and social security. This covers compliance and advisory matters including off-payroll working (IR35), HMRC enquiries and audits, setting up payroll processes and procedures and all other employment-related tax issues.

Ms. Jenkins has worked with a wide variety of clients across all sectors ranging from FTSE 250, AIM, international groups, start-ups, private equity backed companies and privately owned managed businesses.

On the transaction side, Ms. Jenkins advises clients on the operation of their equity incentive plans and supports shareholders/management teams through the transaction process. She has worked on many due diligence projects for both vendors and purchasers and also advises fund managers on structuring carried interest arrangements.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Jenkins worked with FTI consulting; prior to that, she led KPMG’s Reward practice in the South region. She has also worked at Ernst & Young, Smith & Williamson and Anderson. A U.K. National, Ms. Jenkins is a Chartered Tax Adviser (CTA).
