Biography

Karel Pellemans is a partner in the M&A and international tax team of Taxand Netherlands.

He has more than 17 years of experience in advising (inter)national clients on transactions, (inter)national tax structuring and tax optimization.

He started his career at a big four company prior to joining Taxand Netherlands and has lived and worked in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, London, New York and Houston. Karel advises corporate clients, private equity and institutional investors on (inter)national transactions and the tax structuring of domestic and cross-border transactions. Karel advises on all tax aspects of a transaction and is experienced in buy-side due diligence, sell-side due diligence, tax structuring, restructuring, carve-outs, mergers, tax in the SPA and the tax structuring of management participations.

In addition Karel advises tax insurance companies on specific tax liability insurance and W&I policies.
