About the session
Following the success of our first session covering the UK, France, Italy, and Spain, this second edition extends the discussion to three further jurisdictions.
Individuals are increasingly changing their country of tax residence for professional opportunities, lifestyle choices, or family reasons. Each move raises complex tax questions that call for careful planning.
Canada, Switzerland, and Greece each take a distinctive approach to tax residence, from exit taxation on departure to special regimes designed to attract new residents. Misalignment between domestic rules can lead to double taxation, compliance risks, and unexpected consequences for private clients.
In this session, Taxand experts from Canada, Switzerland, and Greece will explore the key tax residence rules applicable to individuals, highlight common risk areas, and share practical insights on managing transfers of tax residence in a cross-border context.
