Winds of change - energy tax evolves

The past year has been a turbulent one for the energy sector, with oil prices from June 2014 to the beginning of 2015 decreasing by more than half. Many projects and contracts have been put on hold as the oil price could no longer justify the investment, which has led to governments wading in to protect the sector. In Canada, Norway and the UK tax breaks or cuts have been announced to give the sector room to move - a welcome trend.
