Taxand, the world's largest global organisation of independent tax advisors to multinational businesses has, for the second year running, won five awards at International Tax Review's (ITR) Americas Tax Awards 2012.

Taxand was named Latin America Tax Disputes Firm of the Year 2012 and Taxand Canada was named North America Indirect Tax Firm of the Year in the regional awards category, demonstrating the innovative, complex and cross-border activity of the teams this year.

Taxand was also recognised with three national awards: Tax Firm of the Year in Peru, Tax Disputes Firm of the Year in Argentina, and Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year in Venezuela. Taxand was nominated for 25 awards in total.

The awards are determined following extensive research into the perspectives of tax executives, in-house counsel, tax advisors and private-practice lawyers in the Americas. The ITR Americas awards span 16 jurisdictions in the Americas and US metropolitan areas, all of which are covered by Taxanders advising locally and across borders.

Frederic Donnedieu de Vabres, Chairman of Taxand, said: "To be recognised regionally in both North and Latin America for our achievements and efforts with indirect tax and tax disputes is testament to our growing profile and presence in the market place, and we pride ourselves on the valued work we produce for our clients in both of these areas.

"Over the last year, Taxanders across the Americas have provided quality advice on some highly complex and challenging engagements, so it is great to see the depth and breadth of our cross-border knowledge being honoured with these five award wins."
