Taxand launches advisory services across Africa
Global
27 Feb 2014

Taxand, the world's largest global organisation of tax advisors to multinational businesses, today announces the launch of Taxand Africa, a one-stop tax advisory service focused on providing the highest quality integrated tax advice across the continent. Covering 47 African countries, the service will be coordinated through Taxand’s Sub-Saharan and North African hubs. ENSafrica, Africa's largest law firm and one of the oldest firms on the continent will manage all enquiries for Sub-Saharan Africa, and Garrigues Maroc, the Moroccan office of Garrigues, and a leading law firm in continental Europe, will manage all North African enquiries.

The development of Taxand Africa demonstrates Taxand’s commitment to provide comprehensive tax advisory services worldwide. Including Africa, Taxand is now active in nearly 100 countries.

Jose Ignacio Garcia, from Garrigues Maroc, commented:

"Doing business in Africa can be challenging. The lack of availability of information often makes it difficult for companies operating in African countries to know which tax laws they need to comply with. However, investment potential is high and with our in-depth knowledge of the local landscape, as well as our international experience, Taxand can provide an African service to navigate these challenges.”

Bernard du Plessis from ENSafrica, commented:

“The African continent offers many opportunities, especially for in-bound investment. However, its complex regulatory, tax and legal framework can appear daunting. Taxand’s Africa team provides a full service offering, travelling throughout the continent consulting with local practices and best in-country advisors, as well as negotiating with local tax authorities, to provide a unique hands-on approach which is critical to this region.”

Frederic Donnedieu, Chairman of Taxand, commented:

“I’m proud to announce the launch of Taxand Africa today as part of our global growth strategy. Many of our multinational clients are expanding their operations into Africa and our approach delivers what our clients seek: bespoke engagement teams combining strong on the ground expertise and coordination with international advisors. The addition of Africa complements Taxand’s rapid development across Europe, Asia and the Americas in less than 10 years.”
