Taxand expands global network

Taxand expands global network
29 Jul 2008

Taxand is delighted to welcome two new members to its fast-growing network. Greenwoods and Freehills, recently merged with Shaddick & Spence, has taken over the Taxand membership for Australia and William Fry joins as the member firm for Ireland. The first global network of leading tax advisors now brings together independent firms in 45 countries giving multinational clients access to over 2,000 tax professionals across the world.

Frederic Donnedieu de Vabres, chairman of Taxand, commented: "As our reputation has increased we are being approached regularly by independent firms wanting to join Taxand. With one exclusive member firm per country making the right choice of firm is important for our multinational clients and for our tax advisors alike. William Fry Tax Advisers and Greenwoods and Freehills offer best-in-class tax advice and the quality of people we expect in Taxand. Moreover by adding Ireland and confirming Australia Taxand is more capable than ever to deliver high quality, integrated global tax advisory services."

"We have developed a strong reputation for servicing our clients' needs both locally and internationally. Our merger with Shaddick and Spence, (the previous Australian member of Taxand), was a logical step in cementing our position as the leading independent tax practice in the Australian market. Joining Taxand gives us access to a deeper and wider pool of international contacts especially in the emerging Asian tax market and we look forward to working closely with our new colleagues to service our existing and new clients," commented Simon Clark, Director, Greenwoods & Freehills.

Martin Phelan, Head of William Fry Tax Advisers said, "William Fry was established in 1850 and is one of Ireland's largest and oldest law firms with a dedicated tax arm. We've been at the forefront of the biggest corporate transactions in Irish history providing tax structuring and advisory services. Joining Taxand gives us the potential to deliver for even more clients looking to establish themselves in Ireland. I'm delighted and proud that William Fry Tax Advisers is now the Irish Taxand member."

ABOUT Taxand

Our tax professionals-more than 300 tax partners and 2,000 tax advisors-grasp both the fine points of tax and the broader strategic implications, helping our clients mitigate risk, manage their tax burden and drive the performance of their business. We're passionate about tax. We collaborate and share knowledge, capitalising on our collective expertise to provide our clients with high quality, tailored advice that helps relieve the pressures associated with making complex tax decisions.
