David Zaiken is based in Taxand USA where he is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC. With 30 years of international tax experience, David has deep knowledge in cross-border international tax planning and tax-efficient supply chain matters. He has been ranked by Global Tax Review in 2004 and 2005 as one of the leading international tax advisors based in the western United States. 

David has been deeply involved in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and post-merger integrations, participating as lead tax advisor and working on cross-border financing for these transactions. He brings significant knowledge of and experience in cross-border transactions in the Asia Pacific region, specifically in China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. He is widely regarded as an industry authority on taxation matters in the high-tech, pharmaceuticals, software, manufacturing, and service industries.

Prior to joining the USA Taxand practice, Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, David spent 26 years with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he was a core member of the global tax and supply chain teams. He subsequently spent three years with the U.S. international tax and Asia Pacific supply chain teams of KPMG.

David has provided commentary on various income tax regulations and proposed legislation, and has authored articles on international tax matters for various publications. 

A frequent guest speaker at international tax conferences, David received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Iowa and holds a master's degree in taxation from the University of Texas at Austin.
