Michael Fishman, a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, brings more than 12 years of experience advising clients on tax matters. His experience has included federal, state, and global research and development tax incentives, IRC Section 199 domestic production activities, meals and entertainment studies, jobs tax credit studies, and various other tax incentive programs.

Mr. Fishman has worked with companies at all stages of the business lifecycle - from start-up companies to some of the largest corporations in the world. He has assisted clients across a wide range of industries, including pharmaceutical / life science, aerospace and defense, software, food products, industrial products and entertainment companies.

Prior to joining A&M, Mr. Fishman was a senior manager with Deloitte & Touche , where he most recently served as the marketplace leader for the Mid-America region, and was previously the marketplace leader for New England. Before joining Deloitte & Touche, Mr. Fishman was a national leader for the research and development tax credit team of KPMG. He began his career as a federal tax generalist with Arthur Andersen.

Mr. Fishman earned his bachelor's degree in accountancy and master's degree in taxation from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.  He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
