Robert Filip is based in Taxand USA where he is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC. He focuses on federal income tax issues, including FAS 109, FIN 48, IRS examinations and appeals, tax structuring, accounting methods and other planning issues for his clients.

With nearly 20 years of tax planning and consulting experience, Robert has worked with numerous SEC registrants, large privately held companies and early stage businesses, advising on federal tax issues. Robert brings experience in many industries, including high tech, telecommunications, consumer products, industrial manufacturing and forest products.

Prior to joining the USA Taxand practice, Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, Robert spent 10 years with the Federal Tax practices of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Seattle and Portland, where he most recently served as Managing Director. He also led the High Tech Tax practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in Portland. Additionally, he was a member of the Federal Tax practice of KPMG in Portland and Los Angeles.

Robert earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and a master's degree in taxation from San Diego State University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in Washington, Oregon, Montana and California (inactive).
