Lauren Byrne, a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC in New York, focuses on advising financial and strategic buyers and sellers on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including reorganizations, spin-offs, financings, repatriations and bankruptcies. Prior to joining A&M, Ms. Byrne was with the Transaction Advisory Services group of Ernst & Young, where she worked on both domestic and cross-border transactions, focusing on tax due diligence, structuring and merger integration. During her tenure at Ernst & Young, Ms. Byrne also co-authored a BNA Tax Management Portfolio on the accumulated earnings tax.

Ms. Byrne holds a bachelor's degree (B.A.) in communication arts from Villanova University; a master's degree in business administration (M.B.A.) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; and a juris doctor (J.D.) from Albany Law School. She is admitted to the bars of New York and Massachusetts, and is a member of the New York State Bar Association.  Ms. Byrne is also a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Community Living, a New York based not-for-profit organization.
