Lauren Byrne is based in Taxand USA where she is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC in New York. She focuses on advising financial and strategic buyers and sellers on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, including reorganizations, spin-offs, financings, repatriations and bankruptcies. Lauren, who brings more than nine years of tax experience, has advised on domestic and cross-border transactions across a wide range of industries such as media and entertainment, pharmaceutical and industrial products.

Prior to joining the USA Taxand practice, Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, Lauren was with the Transaction Advisory Services group of Ernst & Young, where she worked on both domestic and cross-border transactions, focusing on tax due diligence, structuring and merger integration. During her tenure at Ernst & Young, she also co-authored a BNA Tax Management Portfolio on the accumulated earnings tax.

Lauren holds a bachelor's degree (B.A.) in communication arts from Villanova University; a master's degree in business administration (M.B.A.) from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute; and a juris doctor (J.D.) from Albany Law School. She is admitted to the bars of New York and Massachusetts, and is a member of the New York State Bar Association. Lauren is also a member of the board of directors of the Institute for Community Living, a New York based not-for-profit organization.
