Craig Beaty is the key US member of Taxand’s global indirect tax team. He is based in Taxand USA where he is a managing director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand LLC. Craig advises clients on sales and use tax matters including reverse audits, audit management and controversy, event-based tax planning, tax process improvement and accounts payable recovery.

With over 20 years of sales and use tax experience, Craig has advised companies representing a variety of industries including multinational integrated energy, electric and gas utilities, refining and marketing, exploration and production, pipeline and transportation, as well as paper manufacturers, food products manufacturers, and service.

Prior to joining the USA Taxand practice, Alvarez & Marsal Taxand LLC, Craig was with Ernst & Young for 14 years where he led the Sales and Use Tax consulting practice for the Gulf Coast region. He was previously employed by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts for over six years as an auditor and supervisor.

Craig earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Texas and is a member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation.
