Kim Barr is based in Taxand USA where he is a Managing Director with Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC. He has more than 26 years of experience in advising clients in a variety of industries, including healthcare, software, publishing and power generation. Kim's experience includes representing clients before the IRS, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring projects, FAS 109 and tax compliance.

Prior to joining the USA Taxand partner, Alvarez & Marsal Taxand, LLC, Kim was a partner with Arthur Andersen in Seattle and San Francisco and Deloitte & Touche in San Francisco. In San Francisco, he was in charge of the region's State and Local tax practice. In Seattle, he led the tax practice for four years.

Kim graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.S. in Accounting and has a J.D. degree from Duke Law School. He is a frequent speaker on state taxation topics in various seminars and training sessions. Kim also serves as CFO and as a Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Marin and Napa County, and is a Board member of a local low income housing association.
