Aurelio is the managing partner of the Garrigues’ Malaga Office, which has a team of over 60 professionals. He is also currently co-leading Garrgues’ national Banks & Savings Banks Industry Group. Has 24 years’ experience working in tax law and has extensive expertise advising a diverse selection of companies and institutions from different industries including financial services, real estate and tourism in particular. Aurelio’s work is primarily focused on advising savings banks and financial institutions per se on both their day-to-day operations and their ad-hoc key transactions. He has a degree in law from the University of Seville (1981), 1982-84 ESADE, Barcelona (MBA) and a qualification from the II San Telmo, Senior Management Program AD1 (2001-2002). He also has broad teaching experience and has participated as a guest lecturer in various programmes at the University of Malaga, International University of Andalucía, Business Schools (II San Telmo, ESESA) and other Spanish institutions. He regularly participates as a speaker in tax-related forums, seminars and conferences and has published a large number of articles on tax matters in the local press (Diario SUR, Expansión, etc.) and specialist reviews (la Ley, etc.). He is a member of the Malaga Bar Association.
