Javier is based in Taxand Spain where he is a corporate tax partner at Garrigues and has 28 years’ experience delivering advice pertaining to Spanish and Basque tax regulations. Predominantly working with family companies, he has provided structuring and transactional advice on the full range of corporate tax activities including M&A and reorganisations. He was a partner of Arthur Andersen and in 1992 became the partner in charge of the Garrigues offices in the Basque Country area. Javier regularly cooperates with the Basque Tax Administration in tax policy matters. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor.
