Moira Khaw is a Partner with KhattarWong. She has extensive experience in Singapore and international taxation from her years spent in international accounting firms and legal tax practice. She has consulted for companies in diverse industries such as finance, property development, international manufacturing and trading, oil majors and international law firms, as well as high net worth individuals.

Prior to joining KhattarWong, Moira was Associate Professor in the Nanyang Business School, Nanyang Technological University, where she was lecturer in Singapore Taxation and Advanced Taxation. The latter course was both designed and taught by Moira as an international tax planning course with coverage which included international corporate reorganisations, use of hybrid instruments, hybrid and pass-through entities, and use of tax treaties, to achieve fiscally efficient structures and arrangements.

As a practicing lawyer before joining academia, she has acted for clients and achieved substantial savings in tax for them in matters involving the examination of the clients’ proposed transactions and rendering of advice on the re-structuring of these, as well as disputes with the tax authorities.

Moira is one of the contributors to Halsbury’s Laws of Singapore: Revenue and Taxation published by LexisNexis and was Singapore Consultant Editor of the Tax Planning and Compliance Manual published by CCH Asia Ltd.
