Sandra Torres is based in Taxand Puerto Rico where she is a partner at Zaragoza & Alvarado LLP. With more than 15 years of experience in tax consulting and compliance, Sandra has provided client representation before the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the P.R. Treasury Department and other local tax authorities. She has also conducted negotiations of tax exemption grants, research on income, property, excise and municipal license tax issues, and review and preparation of individual and corporate P.R. and U.S. tax returns. Before joining Puerto Rico's Taxand practice, Zaragoza & Alvarado LLP, Sandra owned a tax consulting firm for three years, and spent more than nine years as a tax professional in two different international CPA firms. She has been a speaker at tax seminars sponsored by various professional associations. Sandra has a Bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Puerto Rico and she is also a Certified Public Accountant. She is a member of the Puerto Rico Society of Certified Public Accountants and of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
