Miguel C. Reis is based in Taxand Portugal where he is a partner at Garrigues Portugal. He is a law graduate from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, and holds a postgraduate degree in Business Administration. Miguel spent the majority of his career at Arthur Andersen/Deloitte, where he was the partner responsible for the Tax Consultancy Division in Porto. Between September 2004 and August 2006, he managed the tax department in another law firm. Miguel specialises in national and international taxation related to national companies and cross-border mergers, sales and purchases, bank transactions, capital market and private equity operations, joint ventures, foreign investment and financial planning for high-net-worth individuals, tax advice in the day-to-day running of companies and financial institutions. Miguel is a member of the Portuguese Law Society, the Portuguese Tax Association, the International Fiscal Association (IFA), and the International Bar Association.
