Dr Arne Gobert, born 1966, is based in Taxand Hungary where he has been the managing partner in charge of the Budapest office of Gobert, Fest & Partners Attorneys at Law since 2002. Arne has been a partner with Luther, Germany since 1996 and has worked in Hungary since 1998. He worked in association with the “Big 4” (until the end of 2006). The expanding tax practice is also led by Arne and employs 4 advisors.

Arne graduated in Berlin (1994) and earned a qualification (doctor jur) in jurisprudence in Cologne (1997). Before starting his career as a lawyer he completed three years' education as a bank trader in Berlin, specialising in the stock market and investment funds. In 1994, he started to advise German companies on their investments in Hungary and authored numerous publications, mainly on Hungarian business law and EU law harmonisation. He is known as a speaker at many seminars. 

Arne moved from Berlin to Budapest in 1998, at first as a foreign legal consultant and then partner of the Hungarian member firm of Andersen Legal. At Andersen, Arne was responsible for managing the tax and legal group serving German clients.

His industry focus is on real estate, sport, energy, and oil and gas. Arne advises major international investors in Hungary and the region, particularly on real estate acquisitions, energy law and project finance, tax planning and offshore structures. He has been involved in the restructuring of oil and gas companies, as well as in the setting up of companies in the field of renewable energy. Arne is a member of several professional, business and charity organisations, such as the German-Hungarian Industry and Commercial Chamber of Commerce, the German Business Club (Hungary) and the Rotary Club, Budapest City. Over the years, Arne has developed strong relationships with competent sports authorities, national and international associations and institutions and private clubs, mainly in the area of professional football, dealing with UEFA and FIFA regulations, sponsorship contracts and broadcasting rights, as well as representing players and trainers.
