Ash Gupta is based in Taxand Canada where he is a partner of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP, and is a member of the firm’s Toronto office tax group. His practice focuses on various areas of domestic and international taxation including structuring and implementing public market debt and equity financing transactions, planning and structuring project finance/securitisation transactions, structuring Canada-US and Canada-UK lending arrangements and planning, and structuring and implementing tax-driven reorganisations of private and public corporations. Ash has also provided advice to both public and private corporations on various aspects of executive and employee compensation, among them: stock option plans, phantom stock plans, employee benefit plans and deferred profit sharing plans. Ash was called the to Bar in 1996 after obtaining his LLB from the University of Western Ontario. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
