Gloria Geddes is the key Canadian member of Taxand’s global compensation, equity and employment tax team. Gloria is based in Taxand Canada where she is a partner in the tax department of Gowling Lafleur Henderson and is the national leader of the Executive Compensation Group.

In her taxation of executive compensation practice, Gloria is involved in all aspects of the design and implementation of tax-effective executive compensation plans for public and private sector employers, including stock option plans, share appreciation rights, share bonus and share purchase plans, restricted share unit (RSU) plans, deferred share unit (DSU) plans and performance based medium and long-term incentive plans. Her practice includes advising Canadian and international clients on how to deal with stock option plans in the context of corporate mergers and acquisitions, reorganisations and other transactions.

In addition to her taxation of executive compensation practice, Gloria has extensive experience in advising corporate clients on all taxation aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, reorganisations and financings. Gloria is also involved in the creation and structuring of innovative and tax-effective financial products for clients in the investment industry.
