Carole Chouinard

Carole Chouinard is based in Taxand Canada where she is a partner of Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP. A member of the firm’s business law group, she specialises in personal taxation, corporate taxation and tax matters related to charitable organisations and other non-taxable entities. Carole is bilingual and has a number of years of experience teaching tax law at the University of Ottawa, as well as several years’ experience as a rulings officer with the Income Tax Rulings and Interpretations Directorate of Revenue Canada. Called to the Bar in Ontario in 1986, Carole received her law degree from the University of Ottawa. She also holds a Master of Laws in tax law from Osgoode Hall Law School and is a member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the Canadian Bar Association, l'Association de planification fiscale et financière, l'Association des juristes d'expression française de l'Ontario and le Regroupement des gens d'affaires. Carole is a senior instructor of the tax component of the Bar Admission Course and teaches tax on a part-time basis at the University of Ottawa. She also participates as a speaker in continuing legal education programs.
