Gagan Malik is based in Taxand India where he is a Partner in BMR Advisors' corporate tax practice based in Singapore. He joined BMR in October 2008 after being with Ernst & Young since 2002. Previously, Gagan worked with Arthur Andersen for over eight years.

Gagan has considerable experience in the corporate tax, regulatory and FDI policy area, including working closely with Indian regulators on framing & influencing foreign direct investment policy guidelines. He has significant international experience and was instrumental in establishing the Ernst & Young India tax & regulatory desk in San Jose, California, where he was based for two years. Gagan led several tax director conferences during his stint in the US and authored articles for BNA and International Tax Journals on "Outsourcing into India". He has broad-based experience in advising domestic and multinational companies on the tax and regulatory issues arising from acquisitions, restructurings and cross border tax issues including the structuring of transactions using tax treaties.

Gagan has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1997.
