Mahesh Jaising is based in Taxand India where he is with BMR Advisors, a professional services organisation offering a range of Tax, Risk, M&A Advisory and Managed Services for local and global businesses of all sizes. Mahesh has over ten years’ experience. He previously worked in the indirect tax practice at Ernst & Young and Arthur Andersen prior to joining India’s Taxand practice, BMR Advisors, in 2004. Mahesh has advised several companies in analysis, from a tax perspective, for set up of manufacturing and distribution network and services operations for India. Mahesh has also advised various manufacturing companies on restructuring options available with respect to their manufacturing activities, eg, setting up of EHTP unit/SEZ unit, availing of excise duty / sales tax holidays etc. He has also been involved in several VAT implementation transitions assignments. Mahesh has assisted various Real Estate developers and EPC contractors on contract structuring to ensure efficient indirect tax optimisation to reduce project costs (including for SEZs).

Mahesh has  been extensively involved in representations before Policy makers / Regulatory authorities to resolve issues relating to service tax before the Central Government and VAT in several states in India. He is included in various panels / forums in key industrial associations.
