Maria Zoupais is based in Taxand Greece where she joined Zepos & Yannopoulos in 1998. She was admitted to Athens Bar Association, 1999, Court of First Instance. Maria holds an LL.B from the University of Athens, Faculty of Law (1996) and an LL.M on Public Law (1998). Maria is co-author of "Taxation of Non-residents for Income deriving from Currency Swap Transactions" and "Tax Treatment of Credit Default Swap Proceeds", Derivatives & Financial Instruments published by the International Bureau of Fiscal Documentation, 1999. Maria speaks Greek, English, French, Italian and German.

Maria specialises in corporate taxation, international tax, mergers & acquisitions and customs/excise taxes. She also specialises in energy, petroleum trade regulation and petroleum products taxation. She regularly advises multinationals on corporate taxation matters relevant to the establishment, financing, operation and restructuring of their Greek subsidiaries. She handles assignments of domestic and international clients requiring comprehensive and practical support relevant to tax compliance of their ongoing operations in Greece. She also has particular experience in the implementation of oil licensing legislation as well as storage facilities licensing.
