Alex is based in Taxand Greece where he joined Zepos & Yannopoulos in 2001. He was admitted to the Athens Bar Association (Court of Appeals) in 1999. He holds an LL.B from the University of Athens, Faculty of Law (1996) and also an LL.M from the University of Bristol (European Legal Studies, 1997); and a PG Cert Tax Law from the Athens University of Economics and Business (2001). Alex speaks Greek, English and German.

Alex specialises in VAT and other indirect taxes, including insurance premium tax, stamp duty and customs duties. He has extensive experience in advising on the indirect tax treatment of a broad range of cross-border and local transactions carried out by multinational companies in the course of their business. He regularly advises international and domestic clients on the indirect tax aspects of corporate reorganisations, mergers and acquisitions. He supports clients with VAT issues raised in the context of tax audits and VAT refunds and litigates before administrative courts on assessments of VAT and rejections of refund claims by the tax authorities. He advises on issues related to the VAT registration of foreign companies performing taxable transactions in Greece.
