Rajeev Dimri is the key Indian member of Taxand’s global indirect tax team. He is based in Taxand India where he is a partner and leader of BMR Advisors’ indirect tax practice. Rajeev has more than 18 years of professional experience.
He is the former head of the indirect tax practice at a Big 4 firm, and has extensive experience advising multinational and domestic companies across a range of industries in the areas of VAT impact assessment and transition planning, service tax issues, structuring manufacturing and national distribution models and advising and planning for indirect tax issues associated with complex construction and engineering contracts. He has led multi-disciplinary teams on projects to assist various state Governments to define and implement a framework for the implementation of VAT in those states.
Rajeev's area of focus is structuring cross-border transactions for goods and services, covering a range of indirect tax issues. He regularly participates in and is an active member of various committees of trade associations, providing input on legislative and policy issues pertaining to the entire gamut of indirect taxes in the country. He has been consistently rated amongst leading tax individuals in World Tax 2006 and 2007. Rajeev has a Bachelor's degree in Commerce from Delhi University and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1988.
