Miguel Angel Castejon

Miguel Angel Castejon is based in Taxand Spain where he is a corporate tax director of the Alicante office of Garrigues. He has 15 years’ experience working mainly with large to medium sized family businesses, delivering a full range of corporate tax advice including M&A and reorganisations-based consultancy. He has provided inheritance tax related advice to the owners of the businesses for whom he is engaged.

From 1996 to 2005, Miguel was an assistant lecturer in a Master’s Degree course in tax auditing run by the Alicante Association of Economists between 1996 and 2005; is a lecturer of the Generational Management in Family Business course organised by the Foundation for the Development of Business Training; is as assistant lecturer in a Master’s Degree in Tax Advisory Services run by the Foundation for the Development of Business Training and has lectured on family business taxation and inheritance and gift tax on a number of occasions. He has also written a number of published works including “Asset holding companies” (2000); “Tax treatment of the various investment alternatives” (2000); “Tax treatment of financial investments in the context of family businesses” (2001); “Family business issues: Family Protocol as a tool for the continuity of Family Businesses” 2002; and “Analysis of exemptions established in the wealth tax law for family businesses” (2003).
