Horacio de Uriarte

Horacio is based in Taxand Mexico, where he leads the Energy law practice group at Mijares, Angoitia, Cortés y Fuentes, which is one of the top tier law firms in Mexico. Horacio is with Mijares since its inception in 1994 and practices Energy law since 1998.

Among the energy matters in which he has been involved, Horacio had been the main project counsel for four privately-owned natural gas pipelines in Mexico, including the 700 Km. “Mayakan” pipeline, which is the longest privately-owned natural gas pipeline in Mexico, representing clients such as TransCanada PipeLines Limited, GDF Suez and InterGen.  With respect to electricity, Horacio has experience in both combined-cycle power plants and wind energy projects, acting for project developers such as Renovalia and Macquarie, and for banks such as BBVA.
