Meeting market demand
Post Enron, the tax advisory landscape changed radically. The largest international network of tax advisors disappeared. New legislation was introduced to prevent repeat disasters. Client demand for independent – separate from audit - tax advisors and Big 4 alternatives was created. At the same time the increasing complexity of tax systems demanded the expertise of local dedicated tax advisors and worldwide business operations required global capability.
Taxand was established in 2005 by a respected group of nine entrepreneurial, independent tax firms committed to delivering seamless, responsive service to international and local clients around the world.

In a short time, Taxand has grown into a well coordinated worldwide team of leading experts whose complementary skills and experience deliver value to clients. We have rapidly built a collegial team spanning nearly 50 countries with over 2,000 tax advisors and 400 partners working together to deliver integrated global services.

Taxand has been recognised around the world for our commitment to excellence. Taxand won 'Indirect Tax Firm of the Year', and 'European Tax Policy Firm of the Year' at the ITR European Awards 2011. We also received best national tax awards in Cyprus, Portugal, Spain and Turkey. Taxand Belgium was named 'Best Newcomer' and Poland ‘National Transfer Pricing Firm of the Year’.
This brings Taxand’s total ITR awards for 2010 / 2011 to 6 regional awards and 16 national awards.
